What is LEED?
What is LEED?
LEED is a green building certification system that, from start to finish, involves everyone on the project and encompasses all considered aspects. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), it provides third party verification that is internationally supported.
If your commercial or residential project is seeking LEED certification, it is recommended to bring a LEED-AP on to the project as early as possible. Early guidance can help attain lead points for site selection, retro-fits and conversion of existing buildings. A LEED AP can find realistic green solutions for your building lifecycle in the design stage and construction methods, as well as your operations and pre and post-move in maintenance.
Intentions for future building include:
- 1- Environmentally Responsible
- 2- Economically Profitable
- 3- Create Healthy Places to Live and Work
Focus of a LEED building:
- Energy Savings
- Water Efficiency
- CO2 Emission Reduction
- Improved Indoor Environmental Quality
- Stewardship of Resources.
Scope of a LEED-AP for Commercial Interiors:
- Sustainable Sites
- Water Efficiency
- Energy & Atmosphere
- Materials & Resources
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Innovation in Design
