Accessory Budget
At dinner on Sunday, my friend and I were discussing expensive throw blankets. He asked if $1100 was too much to spend on a throw blanket and here was my response:
I don’t know many individuals who would feel comfortable spending that on one item. But, when combined with an “accessory budget” it can very well be done. It depends on: the budget allotted to accessories, the décor of the home and the creativity of the designer. There are times one really big ticket item can make the statement the home and client are trying to achieve; complimented with items of lesser price points and the same level of taste.
I feel comfortable spending 10% of the interior budget on accessory items. These include: bath, bedding, décor, art and necessities to make the clients home functional and personal to their lifestyle.
